Monte Argentario, Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole: a promontory that juts out into the sea full of nature, cliffs and coves with crystal clear water, ideal for nature lovers of worldliness. In Porto S. Stefano you can admire the Argentario Aquarium.
Orbetello: n the middle of a lagoon of the same name, offers the possibility of enjoyable walks in the restored pedestrian area or along the lake while you await the hour of the aperitif. In the numerous restaurants, typical fish dishes of local cuisine can be enjoyed. The two main events are: the Festival delle Crociere (July – August) and Gustatus (at the end of October)
Monte Argentario, Porto Santo Stefano e Porto Ercole: a promontory that stretches out along a sea rich in nature, rocks and small bays with crystal waters, ideal for lovers of both nature and high-society. In Porto S. Stefano you can admire the Costa Argento Mediterranean Aquarium
Capalbio: medieval village of incredibly charm, right with typical restaurants and history. We recommend a walk along the bastions from which you can enjoy a fantastic panorama extending from Porto Ercole to the Lago di Burano.
Parco della Maremma: from the mouth of the Ombrone river to Talamone (entrance just 7 km from the residence), along the coast of magical Tuscany, extends the Parco della Maremma, a chain of hills that roll to the sea with sandy beaches and rocky cliffs, surrounded by pine forests, cultivated fields and pastures. Among intense smells of aromatic herbs and coloured berries, wild animals of the Mediterranean scrub can be admired.
Le terre del tufo: in the hinterlands of the Maremma, immersed in nature, are the medieval villages Pitigliano, Sovana and Sorano. Entirely built of tufa stone with traditions and hundred-year-old places of worship, these villages allow their visitors a true trip into the past.
Giardino dei Tarocchi: or more than 20 years, the French artist, Niki de Saint Phalle has worked this work of art – unique to the world: 22 installations of various sizes in glass mosaics portraying tarot cards.
Parco archeologico di Vulci: on the banks of the Fiora river rises the Etruscan city of Vulci. The recently-opened archaeological park allows you to walk among the ruins of the city while enjoying the fresh air of the woods along the river banks. Archaeological finds can be admired in the nearby medieval Badia castle. The François tomb, able to be visited upon reservation, is not to be missed.
The Residence Pineta staff will be happy to recommend enjoyable itineraries in the towns of Argentario or in the hinterlands where it is still possible to unearth places far-away from touristy places.
